Jerry Coons, Jr. took advantage of lapped traffic to slip past Scott Hatton to record the NAMARS Midget feature at Butler Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Features in the late model and street stock divisions were rained out, and will be made up on July 29.  Hatton and Wayne Chinn made up the front row for the 25-lap NAMARS feature event. The duo went side-by-side into turn one, but Chinn slid high off turn two, falling all the way to seventh. Fourth-starting Coons made his way to second, with Matt Westphall settling into third.  An early caution regrouped the field, and put Coons on Hatton's bumper.  Hatton, a 1999 Butler midget winner, was able to hold off the challenges of Coons until lap six when the two came up on a slower lapped car as they entered the backstretch. Coons found an opening and drove by both to gain the lead and commanded the final 19 laps.

Westphall was able to gain the runner up spot late in the race, moving Hatton back to third at the finish. Michael Kendall was fourth, with Kevin Doty fifth, Travis Welpott sixth, Thomas Briggs seventh, Chinn eighth, Ed Kennedy ninth and Aaron Pierce tenth.  Midget heats went to Hatton and Westphall, with Doty taking the dash.

Rains hit following the completion of the midget feature, washing out the remainder of the program. Before the rain, late model heats went to Jim O'Neil, Larry Ware, Tim Wilber and Tom Beam. Street stock heats were won by
Glenn Heath, Melanie Gaff and Joel Sherman.
